I always think of sex when I hear "portion control" probably why I don't rate Sid's diet. The last thing a fit active man needs is "portion control" It can lead to divorce and all sorts of grief. Laughing

The numbskull Osborne said he got a great deal, £750 million, tax payers invested £10.2 billion, not much of a return I reckon.

Mahatma Gandhi was a sage. He has a famous quote best presented in summary form. “Seven Deadly Sins: Wealth without work, Pleasure without conscience, Science without humanity, Knowledge without character, Politics without principle, Commerce without morality, Worship without sacrifice.” Without any hesitation, equivocation, or doubt, all these important sins are growing trends and priorities in the modern world.

Just wondered if YOU have any thoughts on this?

Reading and replying on a friends blog the other day, she asked,

"What was the happiest time of your life?" what would you respond?

There were various replies - this was my response.

Happiest Times are NOW ...... because they make your happy times now, tomorrow, and especially when you look back.

Memories are precious - make sure you make plenty.

    All the best Jan

Here is a true story. Two weeks after we met, Jan proposed to me. I knew there and then it was the best deal of my life. We got married eight months later on her birthday. We have never had one bad day. The secret of our success 20 years on. When I want her opinion, I give it to her. Seriously folks, when I step over the line, all hell breaks loose. She has chinned me on many occasions, thank Christ she weighs 60 pounds less than me, good job violence for me used to be a full-time job, when I was young. Bless her.

Oh Mo you've got me sussed ! As Nanny McPhee Emma Thompson stars as a governess who uses magic to rein in the behavior of seven ne'er-do-well children in her charge......  and I love magic LOL!

However, sometimes, if all else fails a heated argument ensues and my winning smile (and a swift left hook) always sorts Eddie out  lol!

Nanny McPhee: There is something you should understand about the way I work. When you need me but do not want me, then I must stay. When you want me but no longer need me, then I have to go. It's rather sad, really, but there it is.
[Nanny McPhee turns around to walk out of the room, but stops once she hears Eddie]
EDDIE: We will never want you!
Nanny McPhee: Then I will never go.

Yes that's true enough. So if we have freedom of speech but don't use it, that has to be morally wrong.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

    Martin Niemoller

And thousands have died in order to give us the freedom of speech (within reason) that we enjoy.

    So very true.

"All that is needed for the forces of evil to succeed is for enough good men to remain silent."

That is true as well, but sometimes we must speak out, regardless of the consequences.

Sadly the forum software only offers basic stats but according to google analytics who I registered the forum with shows we get a lot of daily traffic from all over the world(Not just DCUK clique being nosy) with many new visitors each day and looking at the 'Bounce rate' percentage folks are sticking around to read the content and keep coming back which is good. We've gotta keep doing what we're doing on forums and blogs and also as a good member of DCUK stated in so many words over there yesterday "DUK the charity is the holy grail which we need to crack for the NHS to listen and change" so big time pressure on DUK needs to be maintained.
