Yes, it's football on the TV, when isn't it? But I'm coming round to thinking it's good for all. After all can you honestly say that you may have been sitting watching the England/Swiss game and not shouted, or jumped up and 'yelled' at the TV ? So moving and exercising ....well, yes perhaps I'm stretching things a bit here - but any movement is exercise isn't it?

For me and most of my family we have always enjoyed taking part or watching sport. Indeed at it's best it can bring people together, I'm thinking of the Olympics here and the brilliant atmosphere that seemed to surround it and the people of the UK, or was I imagining this?

If you are one of those people who can sit quietly and watch sport, or indeed do knitting, read a book whilst your partner is watching I applaud you...I've never been like that.

With tonight's game just ended it's 2 - 0 in England's favour, thank goodness. Love it or hate it football, sport is a major part of our life and I think that's good.

Have you seen the latest bank advert advertising walking football for the over 50's.

Now, our local church even has a special evening of fitness for those in a wheelchair .....that is good.

For me, I'm not too bad playing football with the grandchildren......and my walking skills are good too.

What did you think of tonight's match ....who do you support ....or is there a different sport you prefer ?

It was great to see an Arsenal player score two goals!   The four of us love watching football, but prefer to go to matches when we can.  When we lose it's a long way home though.

edit: Sorry you asked which team we support. Well it's Leeds United !Laughing I've used Arsenal as my avatar because that's my 2nd team and the one I've seen the most with my family who are all Arsenal supporters.

I watch American football and I prefer the university level of it.  Pro Am football is ok but they look like they are trying not to get hurt to me Smile

My team is University of Georgia (UGA) but I will also cheer for my sister's team Florida State University.

I haven't picked a UK football team yet - my husband watches mostly F1 and some cricket so I haven't seen many matches yet.  We went to see England play in the Olympics though Smile  That was pretty fun.

I do love sports in general.  I even like to watch golf on tv! Embarassed

@Bode .....we like watching golf too and of course it's The Ryder Cup in a few weeks time.

@Andy ..... that walk football advert drives me crazy too, I'm all for everyone exercising though.

@Zand ..... my dad has always supported Arsenal, so like you he was also pleased at the two goals.

Sorry about all the @'s just found it the easiest way to reply to you all lol!

Anyway my exercise today has been a walk. But you may be off to an exercise class, bowls, even archery. Perhaps you've got an indoor exercise bike or rowing machine. However and whatever you do to keep fit enjoy, it does make a big difference to good health.

Looking forward to hearing about your favourite football team, or how you keep fit.

Well to some the Football season is in full swing ...both here in the UK and further afield.

The big question will Welbeck play for Arsenal this afternoon ? My dad would like him too .... and if he scores even better. I have always liked the Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger. Do you have a favourite player or manager?

I liked Brian Clough! A real character and he took no nonsense from anyone-I remember watching a Forest game in the late 1980's where some hooligans invaded the pitch and Cloughie was straight out there sorting them out and giving them a well deserved slap(Which they thoroughly deserved acting like that and ruining the sport)

The last time I played football was for the Corpus Christi junior reserve team at inside left. Some indication of age is given by the term 'inside left'. I could never get into the first team because they had long long strings of victories. One match has always stayed in my memory. Against Archibald Juniors they won 22-0 and the match was stopped to avoid further humiliation

Thought of you earlier when I heard the result. My dad was pleased to - he's always been an Arsenal supporter.

So well done Ozil, Wellbeck and Cissokho, hope I've got the goal scorers right ?

Did any other members favourite team win ?

Anyway talking of sport ....Hamilton is in pole for the Singapore Grand Prix tomorrow - a win would be good.I'll be cheering him on.  Smile
