I think it's very interesting and also dr. Rosedale is mentioned which I totally respect.

    Hope you will enjoy it!

The low carb higher fat diet is great for almost everyone including very young children. For diabetics and non diabetics. The people, and there are many of them who say otherwise are wrong, 100% wrong and I can prove it, hence the threats of legal action etc. I have received over the years have come to nothing.

When you think about it, and I have said this countless times, almost all whole fresh food is low carb FULL STOP! Meat, fish, natural fats, eggs, dairy, nuts, seeds, most vegetables, even some fruits such as most berries. If it comes from the farm or sea, it's almost all low carb. Now, when it comes from a factory, that is a totally different matter.

That is why when I hear a dietitian ranting on against low carb I know they are clueless, not my opinion but a FACT. The very fact there is no such thing as an essential carb FACT, and we die without fats and proteins should give the dullards a clue, but it doesn't. The good news is, because of countless millions of people like us all over the world, decades of stupidity, corruption and greed is coming to an end. I suspect junk food will do what the tobacco industry did, they will move more to third world countries. Many young people will not remember that when the tobacco industry came under massive attack, they had no problem in finding scientists, Doctors and medical professionals to say tobacco was harmless and even good for you.

As always, millions upon millions of people have to die, before the message sinks in. Eat the food we evolved from, not a multi nationals failed science experiment. Would you feed a Lion Mars Bars or a Horse raw meat? I rest my case.

Mercola can be an annoying combination of sense and total bollocks, but he's on the money here. Jeff Volek used to be a champion powerlifter himself so he not only talks the talk, he walks the walk.

Wrote a long post and just disappeared... freakout
Well, I don't rely totally on what says Mercola specially because of a long search of his supplements that I made and that didn't convince me. Anyway, I posted the link because I was positively surprised that dr. Rosedale was mentioned. Well, his book convinced me to start low carb. His diet is very strict but what I agree with him is that protein intake should be controlled carefully cause eating too many of them may be as harmful as exaggerating with carbs. I find it hard to find recipes that consider this and it becomes very restrictive. Anyway, if you perhaps know dr. Rosedale's work, what do you think? He also suggests to cut down all the dairy.

IMO Atkins, Rosedale, Eades, Sisson, etc. all get more right than wrong - but whatever you do, it pays to check the postprandial results with your glucometer to fine tune what YOU do best eating, and check your lipid panels(if you can still get them trigs and HDL and their ratio are a good indicator for insulin resistance) and the effect on your weight and blood pressure. What works best for you is dictated by how broken you are.

Oh and I usually hit ctrl-C to copy my posts before entering just in case they go whoosh, which happens more often on some other blogs and forums but may happen anywhere.

    Not your fault!

There's a huge amount if variation, I've seen some Type 2s who actually progress faster than some Type 1s, and on the other hand people who spend their whole lives eating total crap who don't appear to be affected. I DO have the suspicion though that there's more going on with your endocrine system that hasn't yet been identified. Much like my hyperthyroid which I initially assumed was my diabetes suddenly deciding to progress after fifty years or relatively low level symptoms.
