Well Paul has already experienced some blown down fence panels BUT apparently we have a very large storm approaching from the Atlantic .....just what we need.

I can remember those bad October storms, with trees down etc of years ago. I was driving down to The New Forest Area with children in the car rather scary to say the least.

I hate these darker evenings wer're getting at the moment and that will worsen once we alter the clocks.

Autumn Sunshine - where are you?

The ONLY thing I like about this time of year is not having to cut my grass. I heard it was meant to warm up again nextweek ?

I've never been known to cut the grass I delegated that job to Eddie  lol!  but I'm sure many would agree not having to cut the grass is good. My brother in law has spent the last few days clearing gutters blocked with blown down 'Autumn Leaves' ..........

Any way a storm on the way before better weather again I think?

Well we had heavy rain for a while this afternoon - glad I was behind the glass, in the warm and not out in it.

Anyway only a few weeks to go and it's bonfire night ...busy time for you I guess Mo?

I still love going to the larger bonfire displays with the grandchildren - the displays are brilliant.......and we get back home and enjoys low carb sausages, sausage and bacon wraps etc and maybe a nice glass of wine too  lol!

We've had full sun all day today. Went to local garden centre and managed to clean car. Bonfire night historically is usually a quiet night for us funny enough. Most displays well organised now. It's usually a bit busier the days leading up to it though.

That is surprising Mo, we were out of control with fireworks are teenagers, I really can't believe what we did, now I hate fireworks and think they should be banned from sale to the public

For some reason snapping the sticks off rockets and lighting them in a lift on the way up to the twentieth floor seemed like a good idea, the stories I could tell, I held an airborne once to fire it at someone but it recoiled and the plastic spike went through my palm lol what a doughnut I felt having to explain that in a&e

Do you remember a firework called a "jumping jack" I think ? We used to light them and circle around them and they just kept exploding repeatedly ! Can't believe the stuff we used to do !

I can remember 'jumping jacks' I hated the things but then anything with a bang to it I was never keen - give me the pretty ooh and aah type fireworks .......I think I was old even when young lol!

I loved writing my name with sparklers though.

The organised displays today are a lot safer - but the pets at home are not keen are they. A friends cat almost 'howls' and disappears under the bed!

Anyway I'll still enjoy them, as long as you dress up warm, you're ok.

Your shed is amazing, Andy. Shed envy is an affliction of mine. My wooden garage is full of junk and is listing. I watch George Clarke's shed programme and cry lol

I am currently cooking and photoing with a view to starting a LCHF vegetarian recipe blog. It is slow progress. Moroccan food is the plan for the weekend.

    Hi Jan

One of my favourites is couscous. Fry a riced cauliflower in coconut oil and add 2 tsp of ras el hanout spice blend. Then add anything you like such as

    Feta
    Cherry tomatoes
    Sun dried tomatoes
    Spring onions
    Olives
    Lemon juice
    Dried apricots (small amount)
    Cashews

Can be eaten hot or cold. Going to have some for breakfast. It sounds wild outside so am not out of bed yet.

That sounds a great dish ....many thanks.

Another dish I enjoy is home made Guacamole ....have a look at the recipe section here, if you've not already seen it.
