We have hit our Christmas rush a month early this year so I'm wishing I could clone me, roll on Christmas and a lovely two week break Smile

You must have organised customers getting ready for Christmas .... I have bought some Christmas Cards, has anyone else?

I do Christmas at the last minute. I never ever send cards, wtf are cards for? I couldn't care sleds if I never got a card again... Xmas or birthdays, if I want to wish someone happy birthday ( which I never want to) I'd call them, I came to this conclusion one year whilst writing x amount of cards and the only thing that changed on each card was the name at the top, assuming everyone else does that. What's the point? Lol sorry I'm a grinch

My mum writes a long personal message in the gazillion cards she writes, that I can see the point of, she also writes Easter cards lol wtf! Any excuse Smile

I have to admit Andy apart from the joy it brings Kids I detest Christmas. An orgy of spending, giving to receive and everyone gets presents they don't want. Years ago when most working people were poor it was a time of extra nice food and booze etc. Now we eat well all the year round and many drink too much every day of the week. I think I will fast over Xmas and go teetotal just to be awkward Ha Ha that will make a change eh lol!

I love Xmas but it is getting a bit silly when mince pies and advent calendars are in the shops already ! I think the reason I love Xmas is cos it reminds me of when I was a kid i reckon. 3 TV channels and watching Tom Thumb or Wizard of Oz was a special event ! It was the only time of year we had fizzy drinks and it was great watching all the adults happy ( pissed probably ). I must be getting old writing soppy stuff like this lol !

I used to love it when I was a kid as back then it was about being together but since my family fell apart after my mum's death when I was young and then my old man banned christmas it felt 'Spoiled' and these days it's just about money and buying presents for relatives who don't give us a second thought for 364 days of the year and leave us to rot and the last few Christmases were ruined either through illness or last year when the Turkey was rancid and had to be thrown away before I could cook it so now I just think Bollox to the lot of it! Sorry to be a miser folks

It's good to have a few days off work and see the immediate family, but it's been ruined by the commercialism pandering to wantonewantonewantonenownownow and the vicious circle that creates.

As a consequence more people get into more debt because they feel they have to spend all that money, and families break up because of the pressure.  The fact it's in midwinter (in the Northern Hemisphere) doesn't help.

Sorry guys and gals ...... a change of subject but do feel free to talk more about Christmas, it's getting nearer and nearer Smile

Just catching up with today's news about the shootings in Canada, we sure live in a mad and mixed up world!

On a cheerier note ....It's the 'Apprentice' tonight I think ....oops - haven't checked the TV listings. Will probably watch and see what the candidates get up to this week, and try to decide who I would fire. Anyone else be watching?

Grumble mumble grumble, I hate apprentice more than Christmas but that's because I'm poshist, I dislike posh people, this is of course unreasonable and prolly highlights a deficiency in my self esteem or tinkle size but I can't help it

I don't care either way about Christmas, I don't enjoy visiting rellies or rellies in law watching them get drunk and act stupid while stuffing crap in and being forced to watch Xmas eastenders bored out of my brains but I LOVE the two week break!!! So I'm a vote for liking Christmas as the holiday from work trumps everything else Smile

Wouldn't it be great if Dr. Hilary Jones is a staunch low carb advocate, jeez I reckon I would laugh so much I would have a heart attack. One way to shut me up eh.

It's late on Friday night and I've just read this

    "Weekends are for memory making,
relaxing and enjoying quiet moments of our days."

I love the thought and sentiment behind these two lines.

Having no definite plans for the weekend, it may well be a restful time and we have to alter the clocks don't we?

I have seen articles saying that if you can plan various activities, outings and make different memory patterns life doesn't seem to go so quickly - is this true? I'm not sure.

If the weather is nice must take time to enjoy a walk - how about you?
