Where are my manners?! I've only just found this thread. Its a great forum and a great concept. Thanks everyone.

Now if we could just keep the drama queens, attention seekers and sychophants off imagine how informative, supportive and beneficial it would be for us all.... Rolling Eyes

I did a bit didn't I? Things got in the way at home and I realised I was coming across as a bit of a show off so I thought I'd bow out gracefully.

I also found some of the issues difficult really but couldn't stop reading them. Not that I'm super sensitive but sometimes I do think too much?

Also had a good belly laugh at the nice humour too though and got hungry at some of the recipes!

    Thanks for the welcome Mo!

    Hi Sam, welcome onboard cheers

Re private messages; I had the same problem years ago when I was a member, got round it by splitting the link into separate words. Whether or not they are reading PMs was always a contentious issue the moderators always denied it but certain events gave us reason to be suspicious.

As an ex mod there, I had no way of reading PM's. However, I'm sure that if they had to, and for legal reasons, they could. That's not saying they would randomly look at PM's. Too time consuming and not necessary.

Setting up the software to look for a block of specific text would be easy and clearly that's what they've done. I was trying to put a link to the OGTT instructions at ETYM for someone in a message on their profile and it did the same thing - replaced it with "[LINK REMOVED]". I ended up telling them how to Google it so that it would be the first result to show up.

Oh well, seems like someone snitched to the mods - when you report a PM, a copy goes to them, so that's how they found the link to this place  Shocked

I guess we'll let you - just don't post about some obscure medical condition you have aside from diabetes, then when nobody responds within 5 minutes, throw a tantrum and leave in a huff. Why should people do their own online medical research when they can get someone else to do their googling for them confused  study scratch
