Re: A bit of an introduction !
I shall refrain from long posts till home the weekend. I have just spent 30 mins writing out a post needing help/advice and never copied it (l forgot l was so busy correcting typos, explaining etc) the net lost signal l never checked my post has now gone as has my temper.

Oh no! I hate it when that happens! Not to worry though, just retry when you've got more time at the weekend-we'll be there.
Best wishes

I suppose I could be compared to your wallet that never sees the light of day, or artificial light come to think of it.

Hi Dillinger, and everyone, it's nice to see so many here, what a fabulous first day ...and as I drink my late cuppa (had to come out of Thommo's Bar) the kettle was boiling in the kitchen.
Here's to you all.
All the best Jan

As I said elsewhere, sorry I am a bit late getting to the party, but I'm here now and happy to see so many familiar faces. May the farce be with you all.

Re: A bit of an introduction !
Hello,
My name is Franziska. I don't have diabetes, but I'm a dietitian who believes carb restriction is the best option for people with DM or insulin resistance. Thanks for starting this forum, Eddie, Jan, Graham, Paul, and any Low Carb Diabetic team members I've forgotten

Sometimes I read the 'woe is me' threads and wonder to myself whatever happened to the British tradition of stiff upper lip and carry on regardless

Re: A bit of an introduction !
Hi everyone. I'm from near Seattle living in the country on our little homestead with chickens, turkeys, and a large garden. I retired three years ago from Microsoft.
I blame my diabetes, at least in part, on my 7 years of a 'heart healthy' low fat diet along with medications (including statins). Since my diagnosis I have been trying to learn as much as I can about diabetes and metabolic diseases. Books that I have read include Bernstien, Taubes, Phinney, Volek, Teicholz, and Kendrick. I also visit many blogs and forums each day. And I am now taking a biochemistry/genetics class so that I can more easily understand medical and scientific papers.
Overall I am very appalled by the 'official' advice given to people with diabetes and other metabolic diseases. I would like to see this changed and hope that I can do my share to make this happen.

Re: A bit of an introduction !
Couldn't agree less, Denise! I always look for your very informative posts about the causes of fatigue whenever the subject is raised. I'm a cheerleader for Vitamin D3 but you have the whole spectrum covered and go out of your way to explain things to peopleDenise wrote:Hi Everyone, Denise here - yes without the )) ((

Hello to everyone! I am very excited about this new low carb forum. Reducing my carbs changeable life and I would recommend it to anyone as being essential to good control. Great to see so many familiar faces. All of the very best luck and good fortune to this new venture.
