    It's the low fat high carb diets that increase the risks of dementia  facepalm

    A dietary pattern with relatively high caloric intake from carbohydrates and low caloric intake from fat and proteins may increase the risk of MCI or dementia in elderly persons.

    What about all those lovely statins they like to feed diabetics? They are bad for the brain.

    Yes Denise - from what I've read and people talking of their experience with Statins I absolutely agree with you.  Smile

    I also think too much sugar in foods does not help diabetes or dementia .....

    Bit of a backlash against sugar these days, especially from Oz, with Srarh Wilson's 'I quit sugar', and 'That Sugar Film', plus recently the guy who drank 10 cokes a day to see what would happen.

     Among the many side effects I had was short term memory loss, I was only on statins for a few months makes me wonder what could have happened over the longer term.
