    Complete Change of Subject !

Watching the news today and what has been happening in Sydney, Australia .......does make you think?

It could have been you or I going about our usual day enjoying a cup of coffee /tea. Yes, it was Australia but it could have been any city in the world, couldn't it?

Give your loved ones an extra hug who knows what tomorrow may bring.

My thoughts go out to all families involved in this siege.

    Take Care

    All the best Jan

Agreed! We live in a strange and unpredictable world so we really should live for today and make the best of we've got!

Hope the siege can be resolved ASAP!

Yes - not good, not good at all. Watched the 7pm news and of course with television, mobile phones the instant it happens it's being broadcast.

The sad fact is wherever you are anything can and does happen these days .... perhaps it was always there but we never got to see it on the television and be so much a part of it.

I'm sure there has always been crime and violence but I think there seems to be a lot more evil in the world nowadays. You're right though Jan, it can, and does, happen anywhere at anytime.

Would have been nice to wake up with some cheerful news, but today we are confronted with children being shot dead in an army run school by the Taliban, and another shooting spree in the US, as if yesterday's siege in Sydney wasn't enough!?

Do people see lives as worthless to be ended in a seconds ?

There are many good things that happen every day, but does not get the news coverage. I was pleased to see young Malala Yousafzai receive her Nobel Prize award the other day .....

    "One Child
    One Teacher
    One Book and One Pen
    Can Change
    The World"

I think we all need to work towards something good ......or is it my 'rose coloured glasses' that need adjusting. Question

I fear it may be those specs of yours Jan! However, I echo your thoughts and all we can do is to try to make a difference wherever we are. This includes our every day lives and our forum lives too. I want to see good things happen not bad. (Yep, I get my specs from the same place as yours, but it's worth a try!) santa flower

    Change of subject !

One week today it's Christmas Eve so still plenty of time to do some Christmas Shopping.  santa

Perhaps the 85% or 90% dark chocolate would make a nice stocking filler?

Have you any gift ideas for a low carber?

    All the best Jan.

Well lucky you them! I've already had my present - the trip to Galatasaray, so all I'm looking forward to is cooking the roast chicken. Yum. And some precious family time of course. Smile

Rod thanks for this. I love 90% chocolate and once managed to get some 92%, but I would love to try 100% and now I know where I can get it from. You're a really useful person to know Smile

    Embarassed (blush)

    Awww, thanks Zand.

I got into these in the branch in Harrogate where the nice sales girl gave us a taste of about four different ones - from Peru, Dominican Republic, Guatemala and Eritrea (?). Anyway, they're amazingly different, not surprising really, we expect variety in coffee, oils, wine etc so why not chocolate. Anything from peppery, smooth, to really bitter - but of course you only need a small piece at a time.

There's a small one on the concourse at Paddington, I might call in there tomorrow ... Very Happy

@Andy12345 I thought you hated karaoke! You don't mind others hearing you if they can't see the face that goes with the voice, is that it? lol

You reminded me of something similar that my husband did before we were married. We were shopping, he was bored. If I took too long in a shop he started a fake argument shouting...."That's right! Tell everyone we're getting a divorce, why don't you?" Yep it worked a treat, he got me embarrassed and out of the shop in record time. And I still married him......Hmmmm.

Just realised that today is the anniversary of my first ever finger prick test!  A year since I went to the doc worrying I might have the beetus (which I did obviously, that's why I'm here lol)

The random late afternoon test was 10 point something.  I'd eaten my regular healthy food that day of porridge made with skimmed milk, berries and banana for breakfast.  Lunch was a cheese sandwich made with wholemeal bread and an apple.  I couldn't keep awake.  Would be sparko on the sofa after my healthy plate evening meal.

Today my random anniversary afternoon test is 5.4 Very Happy I am 3.5 stone lighter and don't intend sleeping until bedtime! I've met lots of lovely new people here and elsewhere. Mexican food for dinner tonight.  It's all good thumb-up
