........now I'm a Michael Buble fan - did anyone see his Christmas Special Question

Going back a few years I can remember watching Val Doonican in his Christmas Shows, my parents thought he was great.
How about the Andy William ones?

    Have you any favourites.  sunny

Val Doonican - groan, one of my embarrassing moments when I was a kid. My Aunt and Uncle took me to see his show while we were on holiday. We had seats in the front row. I was sitting next to a (shock, horror!) boy! So whilst Val was doing the chatty bit of his show, he looked at me and winked and said "I see you've brought your boyfriend with you" I was not amused at all but apparently everyone else in the theatre was. Great. Embarassed Evil or Very Mad

Good news, we got her home tonight ! Still not out of the woods and I have to take her back for INR tests tomorrow but at least she's home. Docs still don't know why the clots appeared but not for want of trying, she's have every test and scan you can think of. So, for us, Xmas has begun ! Thanks again for all your support :-)

Merry xmas Mo! Not a cloud in the sky here and if I wasn't full of cold I'd be having a walk by the river and a cheeky christmas pint or 2 in the pub before my xmas grub. Smile

    Change of subject here !

Christmas and Birthdays is a great time to give or receive scented gifts, lovely soaps, perfumes, after shaves etc.
You can't beat the smell of a lovely soap ...and these days there are a huge variety on offer.
However, have you read this article?

Does antibacterial Hand Gel Do More Harm than Good ?

" If you’re one of those people who smother their hands with antibacterial sanitiser the minute you step off of public transport, listen up.

Regularly using hand sanitiser may be doing you more harm than good.

In the above video, Tara Long explains how triclosan, the active ingredient in many sanitisers, can kill a lot of the good bacteria on your hands.

New research also shows that sanitiser can cause your skin to absorb more bisphenol A (BPA). BPA is a chemical used in the production of almost all plastics.

“Studies have linked high amounts of BPA to hormone disorders, heart disease, cancer, infertility and even diabetes,” Long says.

So what can we do about it?

According to Long we should limit the amount of hand sanitiser we use.

Back to soap and water it is then… "

Original article and video can be found using this link:

    New Year's Eve - Fireworks

Out shopping today there were several shops offering fireworks in readiness for New Years Eve. I love watching the London firework display on New Years Eve in the warmth and comfort of the living room.

I know many go to parties and it wouldn't be New Years Eve without fireworks. Asda had some in at a reasonable price I'm told .......but you can't beat the big organised displays - provided you dress up warm I guess flower

Any plans for New Years Eve?
We will be celebrating a certain someone's birthday Smile

Personally I hate New Years Eve, if it was down to me I'd just have dinner, a whisky and have an early night. Otherwise I end up watching Jools Holland on the telly which is a bit past its sell-by date as a New Year institution (especially since it's recorded in July or something daft - does anyone really think all those people give up their New Year for that?).

I ate some fruit and fibre breakfast cereal this morning, I used to love it so I had a bowl, as it was a new food I did a rare bg reading,  15 mmol seems a bit ridiculous for a medium bowl of cereal, and it tasted like cardboard, so I'll not do that again

Kids had hotdogs for lunch so I had four skinny hotdogs for lunch, they also tasted a bit like cardboard but bg 4.9 at an hour so I'll stick to hotdogs Smile
