Could have added a few expletives but I'll be kind Jan and just say I won't be watching.

If me and Jan ever get divorced it will be over Strictly Come Prancing I detest the drivel. Every year they struggle to find a bunch of Z list celebs for a long drawn out mutual appreciation society. I hear Carol Kirkwood the weather girl is on this years show, I detest her totally plastic gooooooodddd mooooorning and clearly false happiness. The BBC used to be the best, but Jeez has it gone to the dogs or what. Everything in the UK has been dumbed down to retard level, the lowest common denominator catered for 24/7 with countless cooking programs and other dirt cheap to make fly on the wall shite. The way the BBC and other media is going, the Jeremy Kyle show will soon be considered high art.

BTW anyone else sick to death of the 24/7 news about Cilla Black? A few minor hits donkeys years ago and a couple of popular TV series and you would have thought she had found the cure for every disease known to man, the way the media have gone on and on and on. The way things are shaping up Dale Winton is bound to get a state funeral when he shuffles off.

I can recall going to a friend's house (they had a colour TV), skinning one up and being amazed at the quality of scientific documentaries like Horizon on the Space Programme.

So much TV today reminds me of Sturgeon's Law. At a literary conference someone was lambasting science fiction of not being Real Literature because ninety percent of it was crap.

Theo Sturgeon (SF writer) stood up, said "90% of EVERYTHING is crap" and sat down again.

Like so much in the modern world the BBC is having a race to the bottom with ITV a close second. Has anyone here ever watched BBC3? I rest my case.

Never watched anything on BBC3 ... but I think it is / was aimed at the younger audience, having said that I'm not sure if any of our 'kids' watch it!

I can't remember the last time I watched a soap ... but yes, I do have a weakness for Strictly

Guess Eddie will be sitting with his headphones on listening to quality music whilst I watch Strictly.

@Eddie Those pics of Rita are very similar to what we could see of her when we went to see Coldplay at the Emirates stadium and Rita Ora was the support act. Hmm well, her voice live was awful and she couldn't dance or dress well, but apart from that I'm sure all the guys thought she was wonderful.

Well I'm a guy and I don't think Rita is wonderful,when I rarely go to see live music I'm there for good music only and a flash of leg ain't enough to make up for a really poor performance,same for blokes who can't sing but rely on their 'Six pack' to woo the fans.

Well my hubby wasn't impressed either and I thought it was mildly amusing, but people had paid to see Coldplay, so it really didn't matter who the support act was tbh. I didn't even recognise a couple of her songs which I had heard lots of times before.
