Can't beat sweet corn as fish bait although I tend to use the flavoured stuff now, prolly doesn't work better and costs 4 times as much but heyho

I caught one of the prettiest carp on a cube of luncheon meat, only abou 22lb but was a beautiful mirror, and badgers like it too if you dropped it during they day, you get badger visits at night kinda cool
