There are only 5 things on that list I would touch with a barge pole.

Well the things I like on the list are salmon, kale, garlic, blueberries, dark chocolate  I haven't actually tried seaweed, so I might like it. Unfortunately I love potatoes.

@Avocado Sevenfold   I never liked proper egg custard, just the custard powder stuff (yeh I know)

I have eaten meringue and it was OK, but too sweet for me.  Edible though.

So eggs, but not in eggy form. You can't force yourself to like stuff. I used to think I liked all veg, except baby corn cobs. Nasty, bitter taste. Now I can't eat them because of their starchy carbs. Every cloud Very Happy

Yes, the texture is the worst thing. Oh I do eat egg in quiche! Smile That's the nearest I get to eating eggy egg.

Not looking to wind anyone up, honest, but until I started reading diabetes forums and blogs, I never realised how picky so many adults are about food. When I was a kid we ate anything that was put in front of us, almost always home cooked. Maybe that's why I got to 58 years of age before illness crept up on me. I once signed up with a Doctor for twenty odd years and never ever met him.

Post by zand Sun Feb 08 2015, 18:11

I ate everything that was put before me until I was 6 or 7. Then it all changed. I used to hate mealtimes because I knew my Mum would make me eat meat and it made me sick. Eventually she said "Well if you were hungry you would eat it", and wouldn't let me have any snacks, but didn't try to make me eat stuff I didn't like. That was great. I was happy just eating veggies and cheese. I didn't want snacks anyway. I would rather go without food altogether for a few days than eat stuff I couldn't bear.

I have always envied people who enjoy eating anything. I just can't do it. I forced myself to eat bacon and beef and chicken but it was a real struggle. I keep saying I will make myself like lamb soon. I always felt different and hated it. I've recently started to eat mushrooms because I have found a way that I like to cook them.

Mostly it's the texture of things and I hate having to chew meat. If it's minced it's tolerable.
Like I said I envy anyone who isn't picky with food. I so wish I wasn't.

I hated them too on their own but part of a very spicy stir fry they weren't so bad but too starchy for me now.

That's the thing though.......with me it wasn't zero waste if I was forced to eat it because I threw it up again, so the whole meal was wasted, not just the bit I didn't like.

Have to agree Andy I'm not keen on baby corn. However, some just love it.

Kale has definitely grown on me in recent years and spinach too.

The grandchildren just adore brocolli sunny

    All the best Jan

I might not like okra, come to think of it. A bit "sluggy". Will give another try sometime as it is supposed to be good for bs or whatever.

I'm not fussy, honestly Very Happy
