Yes Paul I too found this story very frustrating, annoying, unbelievable, disgusting and many more adjectives !!!!!
As 'Diet Doctor said'
"The following example is one of the worst I’ve encountered. A mother managed to help her 9-year-old son with type 1 diabetes to become healthier and feel better by eating fewer carbohydrates. The result of the mother helping her child? The diabetes clinic reported her to the authorities!
However, the report was soon abandoned – because everyone involved, including school health professionals, noticed that the child was doing much better than before – but the diabetes clinic continues to put up resistance."
I think our good friend Lisa, in Australia, who has a Type 1 son and adheres to a low carb high fat lifestyle would relate to this story. She has a blog called 'The Diabetic Alien'. If mothers go outside of the norm the treatment and response they very often receive from health care professionals leaves a lot to be desired.
Power to a mother (parents) love who just know they have to do the right thing to improve their child's health.
Sometimes you have to take that leap of faith and think and do 'outside the box' ......it is a shame that the response from some health care professionals still has a lot of room for improvement.
All the best Jan
