Over the years I have described my campaigns and promotions of the low carb lifestyle for diabetics as a war. Over ten thousand posts on forums and blogs. Some have said I am mad and worse, I can live with that. World war two resulted in over fifty million early deaths. Diabetes has lead to more early deaths than world war two. I see my work as a war, a war against greed and stupidity. A war against ignorance, corrupt science and greed. The greed of big pharma and junk food.
Nothing appalls me more than diabetics siding with those who bring about the downfall of so many, the people I call low carb antis, the people that hang out on forums and blogs belittling and discouraging others from what we know what works. The newly emerging science papers and trials are on our side. Increasingly medical professionals are standing above the parapet, and saying sugars in all their forms are to be avoided, and the fats man has ate since the beginning of time are healthy and not the cause of chronic disease.
We have won many battles, but the war will be long. Every positive post and comment brings hope and encouragement to the newly diagnosed and lost. How often does an ordinary man or woman have the chance to add years to a persons life ? to stop a person from suffering the horrors of diabetic complications. I have seen these horrors first hand, this does not have to be.
Thank you all for your posts and comments, slowly we will win and we do make a difference. We fight this war for love, not money, and we cannot lose.
Regards Eddie
