    Hi all,
Yes i am interested and predicted that if South Africa could beat New Zealand in the Semi finals they would beat England in the final (on the "other" site).
That was before they got totally outplayed and hammered by Japan in Brighton.
Some say it was planned so that we could rather meet Australia in the Semi Finals, who we can easily beat ! Evil or Very Mad and still beat England in the final.
    Hope reigns eternal Very Happy
All I know is that if you want to see a good match, watch the springboks against Samoa in Birmingham on the 26th, as it will be all out to win on the springbok side and Samoa are a tough side
    to beat.
We will see, watch this space !!

From the South African BizNews site today.

    "Hi there

Malcolm Gladwell's most recent book, David and Goliath, explains quite logically that despite the apparent mismatch, the little shepherd herd boy with the sling was always going to win that fight. Goliath, the 6 foot 9 inch giant, was afflicted with acromegaly, a benign tumour on the pituitary gland that promotes growth but badly affects vision. He never even saw those high velocity pebbles that cut him down - hardly a fair fight, was it?

The Springbok defeat over the weekend to rugby minnows Japan had shades of David and Goliath. With hindsight, the guys in green and gold were ripe for the plucking. A few weeks ago, a group of the black players publicly complained to Cosatu about not getting enough game time. And a number of those who lined-up on Saturday are either out of form or returning from injury. Hardly what builds cohesion in what is, critically, a team sport.

Last week John Smit told a presentation in London the key ingredient in the Springbok 2007 World Cup victory was because "the Afrikaners, Coloured, Blacks and English guys all pulled together into a team." That, he said, made them unbeatable.

Hopefully the Japanese defeat will galvanise the Springboks into pulling together. Smit says South Africans are best when they have their backs to the wall. After the weekend's shock, that theory is about to be put to the test."

It seems to me if you have a sports team that does not include the best Black Men and Women available you ain't going to win much.

Thanks Eddie, agree with his sentiments, but the Black/white thing is being overplayed a lot.
Traditionally Blacks in South Africa are Soccer Mad, and Rugby is seldom if ever played in African Schools, It is however played more in Coloured schools in the Cape province
To force Blacks into the team to make up numbers has and will never work.
The only way to win is to pick players on the ability to play rugby and not on colour as has happened in this team to some degree.
Our Soccer side has only one regular white player. Why ?
    Anyhow my thoughts.
I am not into politics or racialism, but I do support the side that is currently there, and we do have the ability to play amongst the top nations.
But in the end as in any match its the side that plays best on the day that wins
Ill be watching as many games as I can, there have already been some good contests
    Regards Brian

Hope its a good night, but the best teams will win.
I think the Refereeing for the entire world cup has been extremely good so far, may it continue
