Cold Pasta Less Carbs ? Empty Cold Pasta Less Carbs ?

Post by RANDBURG Sat Apr 11 2015, 06:41

    Hi,
Came across this video clip, following a thread on the other place.
Anyone tried this idea with cards i.e. eating them after refrigeration/freezing
Are carbs lower, or had a result on blood sugar ?

    Hi!

I've seen this mentioned around DCUK before,I personally haven't tried doing so and wouldn't either as these kinds of starchy foods aren't good for me in general and I don't really miss them so I personally wouldn't go back to eating them, even if the process mentioned could reduce the spike in BG levels...Others may feel different. Smile

    Cheers

Agree 100% find a plan that works and stick with until it does not work. I have looked at so many ideas that are supposed to make a difference, and the difference ain't worth meddling about with in my opinion. There are no magic formulas out there, the betus can never be fooled.

Speaking as a non diabetic low carber ....... I'm very happy with the LCHF lifestyle and the 'substitutes' I eat in place of potatoes, pasta, rice etc.

When I'm cooking dinner I usually prefer to prepare, cook and eat all the ingredients the same day. It's buttery mashed swede instead of potato for us tonight.  Smile

I know there are those who have tried resistant starch - but not for me.

    All the best Jan

I guess it could help slightly as a kind of 'Damage limitation' exercise for those who just cannot(Or will not) give up the starchy carbs.

The problem is though these people will still be addicted to carbs, it's just prolonging the agony really.

For me, it's like drink zero alcohol beer. You're just kidding yourself lol ! I did see the cold pasta thing on TV recently and the BG rise was a little lower but it was still too high to make it worth bothering about.
