Ellipsis's...You know...When you put 3 full stops in between sentences or at the end of a sentence to leave it open...(Actually I aint got a clue TBH-I just use 'em 'cos I like 'em)

Re: How to start an argument online!
Not sure if this will start an argument or not, but I'd really like to know people's opinion on the massive 60+ page thread at the flog:
http://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/blood-sugar-in-high-20s-and-gp-not-helping-please-advise.71532/
I normally try to stay away from posting about that board on others, but this one has me beat. Is this person for real or is it another case of Munchausen by Internet? Are all the people trying to help this person being played like fiddles?
http://healthland.time.com/2012/11/30/munchausen-by-internet-faking-illnesses-online/
I started trying to catch up on the thread today, but after 10 pages of "yeah buts" and "I don't like this, don't like that", "I'm scared of hospitals", "what's a carb?" etc., decided it was a case of TL;DR and stopped. Wasn't prepared to fritter away hours of time when my spidey senses were tingling like crazy within a very short space of reading.
What's the general consensus - genuine or attention seeking time waster? If someone hasn't got at least the basics after 60 pages of posts in one month trying to help them, is there any point persisting?

Re: How to start an argument online!
Think I agree this post summed it up for me.
"My typical diet is 2 x sachets of porrige at approx. 1pm and then I have my dinner at approx. 5pm.
For my dinner I have either sandwiches ( 6 x slices of bread) with crisps or a meal containing meat and potatoes.
I don't know how I am going to follow a low carb diet as, as you can see, I eat a lot of them. I don't like vegatables or yogart.
I know I'm over eating, just don't know how to stop it. So ashamed."
What woman eats a sandwich with 6 slices of bread ? Some people just love attention.

Re: How to start an argument online!
@Indy51 I agree with you. I didn't bother reading more than a couple of pages but have made 3 short comments on the thread. I replied because I was irritated by the whinge "the weight isn't falling off me" - she's lost 2 stones since December!
My opinion? I would say worried timewaster because I don't think she really wants to try. Maybe a 'rabbit caught in headlights?' I've lost patience with the thread anyway.
@mo1905 Yes I laughed at the sandwiches with 6 slices of bread. I have never ever eaten 6 slices of bread at one time in my entire life!

Re: How to start an argument online!
@Indy
Maybe a wind up merchant who knows, if not a few slates lose on the roof. This does not help from a long time member. Posted this morning.
" Nothing motivates like a good meter figure and with Scottie's recent numbers, a 13 would thrill me to bits. It will take a lot more work, so I'm hoping she hits this hard."
I know it was said in the context of numbers being in the high 20's, but 13 is a number that will lead to severe complications in time for most people. How many newbies would read the above and think I am under 13 so I am doing well.
If the person running the very high BG numbers is genuine something is very wrong, if they are telling the truth. They should be pushing hard to see a diabetes specialist as soon as possible. That being said, I would be running those numbers on six slices of bread and spuds. Someone should tell this person, change your diet drastically or start saving up for a wheel chair and Braille lessons.

Re: How to start an argument online!
3 scenarios spring to mind with that thread...A: Karla is back...B:She ain't low carbing as we all know it...C: She's actually a type 1 and been misdiagnosed but then I would be expecting the weight to fall of her like crap and show ketones in the presence of high BG's like I was doing when I was initially misdiagnosed...I guess time will tell on this one but I stopped reading the thread a while back as for some reason it was making me bring up a little sick at times.
