How old do I feel ?
Well, I'm a big kid at heart so perhaps I'm just six years old
However, my birth certificate will tell a different story
The important thing, no matter what your age, is to make the most of every day.
All the best Jan

Re: How Old Do You Feel ?
Some days I feel like I'm 119 years old when all my bones and joints are hurting.
Some days I feel like I'm 16 years old when I'm going through unnecessary angst.
Some days I feel like I'm 6 years old splashing my bare feet in a puddle of mud.
Some days I feel like I'm 22 years old in love with life and feeling great.

I love that about being 22yrs ........ skipping along and not a care in the world.
I'm certainly only 22 today
How is it though, when we are young we want to be older - and when we get older we want to be young?

Re: How Old Do You Feel ?
I'm feeling old at the moment.
I used to have quite good basic fitness; if I didn't do any exercise for months I could still go for a run and do about half an hour before having to stop. Awhile ago I tried that and made about 10 minutes. I've also been doing these morning sprint exercises and have pulled 2 muscles doing that, when previously that sort of thing wouldn't trouble me at all.
That is pretty scary.
So, I'm doing the 5:2 fast diet and pushing ahead with the morning stuff to try and get back to a reasonable level. I hope some of it is to do with sleep deprivation care of youngest son's nighttime wanderings (well he doesn't really wander he makes a b-line straight for our bed and has a bit of a chit-chat catch up before wriggling about and dosing off just as I have to get up).
What is the solution?
I hope it has something to do with red wine and cheese?
Best

Re: How Old Do You Feel ?
You're right Dillinger. As we get older, exercise can become more of an issue if not kept up regularly ( even then, I think recovery takes longer ). I think a good warm up and cool down is a must, along with some gentle stretching. This doesn't need to take long, some gentle movement to warm muscles and prepare the heart steadily for increased activity. This was alien to me a few years ago. I used to play squash regularly and would just play, no stretching or anything. I suffered and pulled a few muscles. I try to stick with steady cardio now with low impact, hence the rower or Watt Bike. This allows more time to workout with less injury and recovery time.
Enjoy the chit -chat's with your lad, these times are precious even though you may find them slightly annoying at times now. Once he's old enough not to make a bee line to your bed, bet you'll miss it lol !

Re: How Old Do You Feel ?
My grandchildren can't believe we didn't have radiators in the house when I was their age .......
As for the dial phones - weren't they great, chunky and reassuring somehow I can remember being so excited when my dad told us we were having a phone installed. What a difference today if you don't have a mobile at 5yr it's frowned upon. But is this progress?
Anyway - I'm feeling young at heart so that's no bad thing.

Re: How Old Do You Feel ?
@ Jan1,
Surprised you remember that far back, you don't look a day over 25.
Do you still remember life with no TV's only radio, or did that only happen in the colonies !!

Bless you for that comment - it's made me smile.
When I was born we didn't have TV only radio, the great excitement when we got our very small screen. Very strict watching too, 'Listen With Mother' was the only thing I was allowed to watch, and of course the children's programmes when I was a little older.
It's so different today 24 hour Disney channels and the like.
We were encouraged to play, use our imagination ...... it's one of the many things I loved doing with my children and now my grandchildren
Cheers
All the best Jan

No I'm pretty sure it was British. I don't think you can remember it, you're far too young
