I must have missed this when you originally posted Mo ....... but all who read this must be aware of the responsibility that all Type 1 diabetics should have with regard to driving.
These words from the article:
" A diabetic motorist has been jailed for causing the death of a cyclist after suffering a medical episode at the wheel.
Charles Maxted - a Type 1 diabetic most of his adult life - was "significantly lax" in his daytime testing regime, according to police.
And the family of his victim criticised Maxted for his "complacency" as they called on all diabetic drivers to check their glucose levels before every journey"
I appreciate this is a diabetes Forum BUT every driver should always make sure he or she is fit to drive. Look at the many drink related accidents that occur. Accidents are also caused by drug mis-use / abuse to.
Every time a driver gets behind the wheel, it is that drivers responsibility to be fit and in control of their driving.
Accidents will always happen but more CAN be done to prevent them.
