    High-Fiber Low-Carb Food List Empty High-Fiber Low-Carb Food List

Some are worry by fiber in a low carb diet here is a list that may help.

    http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/od/nutrition/a/fibercounts.htm

Interestingly, almost all the non-starchy vegetables and low-sugar fruits are the ones that are highest in both fiber and nutrients. So if you just want a list of high-fiber vegetables and fruit, you just have to look at the lists of those which are low in carbohydrates. If you are looking for numbers, one good guide for those limiting carbs is to look at the ratio of usable carb (or effective carb compared to fiber -- in other words, how much carbohydrate do I have to eat to get a gram of fiber? Here is a list, roughly in order on this carb/fiber scale.

Over the years we have been told by the same naysayers who to this day are still spreading the myth that on a LC diet we would suffer constipation due to the lack of dietary fibre, nothing can be further from the truth we can get all the fibre needed from sources such as those in the article posted by Yoly.

Some words courtesy of Wikipedia "The snow pea is a legume, more specifically a variety of pea eaten whole in its pod while still unripe. The name mangetout (French for “eat all”) can apply both to snow peas and to snap peas. Snow peas, along with sugar snap peas and unlike field and garden peas, are notable for having edible pods that lack inedible fibre"

We don't often eat mange tout or the sugar snap peas in our house .......perhaps have to think again Question

You may be relatively new to the low carb high fat lifestyle.

You may be worried, or have thoughts, about getting enough fibre in low carb foods.

You may want to read this article, which was originally put on the Forum by Yoly.

It gives a great list of foods, and further information ...... just use this link to find out more.
