Re: Some decent tunes !
I'm a bit emotional over the death of Jack Bruce. I remember watching this recording of his band with Mick Taylor (yes that Mick Taylor) and the great American jazz composer Carla Bley on the OGWT in 1975. I'd just finished my finals at uni and saw the band live the following day. They crashed and burned shortly after without releasing a studio album, fortunately this and a long lost live recording survived.

This one always makes me feel blue. But it's a good song all the same...

My brain hurts - should this now be 12 hours from Tulsa or 36 hours from Tulsa?

Acker Bilk sadly died today aged 85 RIP. One of the UK's best Jazz musicians. This tune made him famous and was a hit all over the world.

This was and always has been a favourite of mine. Talking with my dear dad tonight he too said he remembered this 'tune' so well.
Evokes special memories.......
Even at the later stages of his life, for those who loved 'Acker' he was still pulling in appreciative crowds. (The Regent Centre, to name one).
'Acker' or Bernard as was his actual first name was a special musician and had a style of his own RIP
All the best Jan
