Novo Nordisk have put £115 million into a new diabetes centre in Oxford.

They are employing Jim Johnson to run it.

Now he is a researcher with integrity, who follows the science where it takes him, and hence is knowledgeable about low carb and ketogenic diets.

Here is a recent study (Gareth Lim is another to keep an eye on).

I warmed to him immediately when he politely and carefully made Stephan Guyenet look like a clueless twerp on his own blog.

It's very unlikely they will be able to buy him, but I hope he reads the small print of his contract VERY carefully in case they have written in a gagging clause forbidding him to research, or mention, diet.

I hope your right Chris but I just can't see Nordisk investing in a project that wouldn't be financially beneficial to them

    Thanks Graham and Chris

I'm sure there will be a lot of folks keeping an eye on this appointment ...
In the fullness of time, we shall see what happens.

    All the best Jan

I suspect his brief will be to produce the effects of low carb in pill form.
