    Thanks to Gretchen Becker

Full paper here, and pdf available.

Amazing that Test Test Test aka Jennifer's advice has been on numerous sites on the internet for 14 or more years now and in all that time it has never been subject to an RCT.

Thanks Chris not seen that before. only viewed the abstract will add to my to read list

We know from our own n=1 that given the tools and the right information on testing SMBG can be invaluable for good control of BG.

Jennifer' test -test-test and Jenny Ruhl's Blood Sugar 101 have all a newly diagnosed diabetic needs to take control, but hey testing is deemed unnecessary by the majority of GPs and DSNs cos people might come to realise just how  crap the dietary guidelines are floggingdeadhorse

What's worse is that the likes of Alan have championed Test Test Test on the ADA Forum for over a decade and have demonstrated incredible successes, with people routinely dropping their A1c by 5 - 8% and sometimes even over 10%, and the ADA have failed to notice.

The original pro-testing paper was by Andy Karter a decade ago - and if Kaiser Permanente decided testing was cost-effective it must have been. Unlike Andrew Farmer he didn't have a result in mind when he designed the experiment.
