Those recipes are a joke must have had input from dietitians and DUK

Gammon and chips 48g carbs, fish and chips 47g carbs just two of the many, but hey they are low in fat so must be fine for us metabolically challenged

Let's face it they are not going to admit lchf works. But this new campaign is doomed to failure, They are like drowning men grasping straws.
If their scheme does not work they will blame the people on the diet.
I got angry yesterday when I heard the prof say we need to eat low fat and avoid sugar to lose weight to avoid T2d!
I would describe the policy as mature male bovine excreta!
My better half summed it up. Don't expect them to advocate low carb there would
be whole sale losses of jobs in the food industry if we all changed our diets.

I have a horrid feeling that when the New! Improved!! Eatwell Plate has the expected results, doctors will be blamed for failing to enforce the diet, and it will be made illegal to recommend or even discuss anything else, as in Australia and New Zealand.

This nearly happened once already when Dame/Baroness Barbara Young was in charge of the CQC and determined that NICE Guidelines MUST be obeyed by doctors (not the black one who is quite sensible, there are two.) She later went on to become head of DUK.

Graham recently posted something from Pulse Today which prompted me to beat my head against the desk reading more of the site. I expect terminal cluelessness from Jeremy Hunt (rhyming slang) but Andy Eye-Makeup Burnham has now decreed that if Labour are elected he will do the same. 

I feel for the frustration of many of the doctors who post there. One of them called the guidelines "tramlines".
