For the first time in generations, the average age of people suffering severe heart attacks have fallen – from 64-years-old to 60-years-old.
The culprit? Probably the massive increase in obesity and diabetes.

In short, younger and fatter Americans are falling victim to life-threatening heart attacks at a much higher rate.

Modern Readers: Cleveland Clinic: Obesity Now a Factor in 40% of Severe Heart Attacks

How can you avoid becoming a part of the heart attack statistics? Do five things:

    Don’t smoke,
    maintain a good weight,
    good blood sugars,
a good cholesterol profile (high HDL, low triglycerides)
    and a good blood pressure.
A low-carb diet can help you with all of it, except the smoking part.
