Does metformin cause you to bulk up?

Its incredibly hard to be feminine in today's world and even harder if like me, you are the classic mesomorph type marked by a well-developed musculature.

Becoming diabetic was a big surprise as I've away been fit. But the question I've got, is do anti-diabetic drugs like metformin causes you to pack on more muscle by lowering estrogen?

Certainly since becoming type two and being treated for it, I've notice I've bulked up. I've gone from around about 9 stones to 12 half stones and feel a tad mannish.
