Here we have one of the most high profile BDA dietitians, the rubenesque Sian Porter. Another BDA dietitian flogging junk advice and product. Looks like Sian's advice does not work for her.

"Sian Porter, the Potato Council's consultant dietitian, told the Daily Express: 'It is important to have a wide variety of foods in your diet but sometimes our heads are turned by new things and we underestimate old favourites like potatoes and how they compare to other, often more expensive "superfoods".'

Here is Sian promoting margarine while in the employ of the Fat Panel, a shill outfit for the margarine industry.

"Dietician Sian Porter from The Fat Panel shows you how to follow your favourite chefs meal the healthy way."

Talk about shooting yourself in the foot one toe at a time. I expect a massive and well financed fightback as more and more patients, researchers and especially doctors start getting word out to the general public. I wonder how long before dieticians' words are spoken by skinny actresses.

Don't dismiss the BDA dietary advice cos it's scientifically based on the size of your hand  Shocked

Reduce your portion sizes to help you reduce and
maintain a healthy weight. A portion is:
    • a fist size of carbohydrate
    • a palm size of meat/fish or poultry
    • two handfuls of vegetables or salad
    • a cupped-handful of fruit
    • top of your thumb size of oil or fat spread.

I need to check the BDA out in the morning, their advice has become far more scientific. Still pushing the carbs first I see. facepalm Seriously, they are under real pressure now. Every week another REAL medical professional kicks the BDA recommendations for type two diabetics and over weight people into touch.
