"A HEALTH writer sick of seeing stories about miracle weight loss tricks decided to see how easy it was to turn bad science into a bogus diet headline.
He came up with the silliest idea possible: He would try to convince people that a bar of chocolate a day helps you lose weight. The results were alarming.
“Chocolate Can Help You Lose Weight!” screamed headlines across the world. “Good news slimmers!”, “Need a ‘sweeter’ way to lose weight? Eat chocolates!”
And these were from major publications. The Huffington Post, Daily Mail, Daily Express and Daily Star all fell for the flimsily concealed lie. Even dedicated health magazines including Shape and Men’s Health were taken in by the hoax.
The fake research was discussed on TV shows, translated into half a dozen languages in more than 20 countries and made the front page of Europe’s biggest daily, Bild, just below their update on the Germanwings tragedy."
Great story Indy
That being said, billions are still falling for the you need starchy carbs with every meal BS. But times are changing, nice to see Tate and Lyle profit down, the same for many in the junk food racket.
