Yes well done to Zoe and her team.  Smile

In case you've not had a look at her original paper I've repeated the link.

Link to the full Zoe Harcombe paper here http://openheart.bmj.com/content/2/1/e000196.full

    All the best Jan

Sidney only posts absolute crap very rarely these days but when he does post, they are quite comical ! You can almost picture a smug grin as he presses "send" lol ! I think I prefer angry Sidney to the "trying to be clever in a not very clever way" Sidney :-)

He always tries to have the last laugh by posting dross links to try and throw a spanner in the works-trouble is for Sid the only laughter that occurs is folks laughing at him and not with him like he wants! lol

Sid gives a link to the NHS in his post, the page links out to their guide on saturated fat:

Saturated fat is the kind of fat found in butter and lard, pies, cakes and biscuits, fatty cuts of meat, sausages and bacon, and cheese and cream.

    http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/Goodfood/Pages/Eat-less-saturated-fat.aspx

Note the pies, cakes and biscuits, tagging the junk food in with healthy fats is the only way they can show an association between saturated fat and heart disease. Remove the junk foods and the association disappears as has been shown in many LC studies.

The BDA also includes junk foods:

Saturated fats – include harder fats like lard, butter, fats on meat and are found in fatty meat products, pastries, cakes, biscuits, in full fat dairy foods, and take-away meals.

It's funny what you can get away with by just having some supposed authority. Looked at in the cold light of day that is absolute bo***cks but we have all had to nod and agree with it for 30 years...

I stopped nodding almost seven years ago, around three months in to type two diagnosis.
