    http://nutritionfacts.org/2014/11/27/how-avoiding-eggs-could-help-you-avoid-diabetes/

Anyone else seen this? Just saw a link to this dross over at the 'Big Forum'! Evil or Very Mad

"For those with diabetes, eggs may then hasten our death. Eating one egg or more a day appears to shorten anyone’s lifespan, but may be even worse for those with diabetes, potentially doubling all-cause mortality, meaning egg-eating diabetics seem to live particularly short lives."

Perhaps we should swap back to cereals, toast and pop tarts and we might live longer eh? Shocked

I won't be giving up my eggs any time soon based on this so called pearl of wisdom! No

Yep, I read that ! Thought it was a wind up to be honest ! The stats were laughable !

Here is a quote "One study found that eating just a single egg a week increased the odds of diabetes by 76%. Two eggs a week doubled the odds, and an egg a day tripled the odds."

So, 1 egg and the odds of getting diabetes is 76%. 2 eggs doubles this, so 152% lol, 3 eggs and the odds are a whopping 228% !! So, you are guaranteed diabetes ! Crazy !

Anyone who is worried as a result of this "research" should just look at the statistics for egg consumption in the UK, over the past 30 years, set against the increase in T2 diabetes over the same period.  Egg consumption, as I think most of us know, dropped dramatically following the Edwina Curry salmonella in eggs scare (late 80's?) and, of course, due to the anti-fats advice from the early 80's onwards.  There is no correlation.

This is the bloke that posted the egg dross. $64000 question. Would you take nutritional advice from a geezer that had his head on upside down?

Yes, quite possibly. It would depend what he said, how he justified it, who was paying him and many other factors, but would be unlikely to include premature baldness and choice of facial hair. I'm now going to go and sit with Zand, in the naughty corner.
