Perhaps a DCUK member can ask the Doc. why low carbers who increase saturated fats see trigs. plummet, HDL go up and once an acclimatisation time has passed LDL stabilise. Low carbing diabetics have far better lipid patterns than non low carbers and this has been proved. It's carbohydrates and insulin that drives up cholesterol especially trigs. Check the video out at 1 minute 40. And this guy is the expert who will be answering questions and advising diabetics at the big one. How the mighty fall.

Actually Dr Hiliary is right. GPs do have a vital part to play in advising patients and I totally agree that they should be giving out uptodate advise using current research. What a pity that the good doc and others like him don't follow this advice and stop telling us that saturated fats are bad and that we should follow the eat well plate.
