The Brussels Sprout Tree Empty The Brussels Sprout Tree

When I can I buy sprouts on the stalk, they last longer - I keep them in the sunroom by the back door. Putting them outside means the damn pigeons will eat them.

They can be decorated with tinsel if you can't be bothered with a Christmas tree.

This week I have a partridge as a change from the pheasants, probably tomorrow. Today I had them with rump steak and yesterday I had them with a small amount of rice with a chicken curry. I could also have them with my sausages but I think just for a change I'll have purple sprouting broccoli.

About the only thing I don't eat them with is fish.

The downside is that you have to be careful carrying them, they will stick out of your shopping bag and poke people in the street in their nether regions unless you keep an eye on them.

Ha, a blast from the past!

Mother used to make carrot and coriander soup, and one of the previous staff in one of the greengrocers also used to make and sell it, the whole shop smelled appetising. I hadn't considered cinnamon though.
