I sold my fishing tackle about 18 years ago but I'm really thinking of getting some cheap gear and taking it up again so I can escape for some tranquility at weekends...I'm guessing the regulations are a lot different now-when I last fished all you needed was a rod licence that you could buy in most tackle and bait shops-I'm guessing it's not so simple these days?

shame your so far, there is a lke near me where you pay £4 for the day and all you need is a bag of dog biscuits and you spend the day watching 4-9 pound carp taking your bait, its very exciting, the kids love it, its a little too easy for me, i want to sit and wait for monsters but its awesome if you want to feel the rod bend a few times

Talking about fishing ....... we watched an older episode of Extreme Fishing on Dave earlier with Robson Green in Vancouver - fantastic scenery in Canada. Wouldn't mind walking around some of their fantastic lakes - has anyone been?
Mind you we have some lovely lakes and rivers in the UK too.

Always fancied a trip to Canada and New Zealand. One day for sure. My shift at work hired a boat from Mersea a couple of years back which was cool. Caught plenty of cod and brought a few home. One guy got ill but endless supply of ground bait lol ! Every cloud eh........
