Sorry it was a rather science-geeky one. Yes molecules can be handed pairs marked L and D depending which way they face.

I thought I'd remembered a discussion about D and L versions of alpha-lipoic acid either here or on DCUK, but now I come to think it was on a different forum altogether. Duh!
