All of next week BBC TV and radio programmes in England will be focusing on diabetes.
The action starts on Monday night at 7.30pm in Inside Out, BBC One England’s regional current affairs series. All 12 BBC English regions will show the same ten minute film on Type 2 diabetes which will include an interview with Chris Askew, our Chief Executive talking about the Type 2 diabetes crisis and what needs to be done to tackle it.
Each region will then carry local content about diabetes, and we have contributed to several of the films on a range of topics including amputations, the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme and our Community Champions programme.
On Monday and throughout the week, BBC local news programmes on TV and radio will have more interviews, features and debate about the condition, much of which will feature Diabetes UK spokespeople.
The programmes are a great chance to get people to sit up and think seriously about the causes and complications of diabetes, and how we can tackle the diabetes crisis.
Check back on Tuesday morning for links to the programmes, and check on Twitter for updates on when our spokespeople will be appearing.

Well it should be fun when DUK "spokespeople" appear
