Vegetarians I can understand, vegans are more batshit than me I might be able to survive on vegan grub, but I draw the line on wearing plastic shoes.

Re: Vegetarian ?
I knew a vegetarian once, or he claimed to be one, who said the only meat he consumed was chicken and fish! Mind you he had some odd ideas; when he had a bad back he reckoned it was his psychic nerve!

"when he had a bad back he reckoned it was his psychic nerve!" Jeez that reminds me of Jopar at the flog. Another low carb anti with one foot in the grave. How hard those antis worked to rubbish low carb at the flog. Clearly the owners see some financially advantageous mileage from promoting low carb, because they would promote depleted uranium as a health food if it swelled their coffers.

Don't mention depleted uranium I worked with the stuff at one time. It was on the beam shielding and primary collimator of a linear accelerator and it got eroded by a water leak and produced a lot of dust. It is an Alpha emitter, they have difficulty going through paper but not nice if they get in your lungs!

"beam shielding and primary collimator of a linear accelerator" That sounds way beyond rocket science to me. Can we stick to meat and four veg please.

Ah. what Michael Eades calls a beady-eyed vegetarian. If they have beady eyes they aren't real meat . . .

I had a friend with a very weird kind of Type 1 diabetes which he reckoned came from working at Ground Zero during the original atom bomb tests.
I had another friend who had Type 2 diabetes and a whole bunch of other diseases which he put down to servicing Blackbirds at the USAF base. I don't know if anything nuclear was involved in that or if it was just the fuel and hydraulic fluid which used to leak at ground level. They may well have had nuclear bombs at the air base. I believe they dropped one once, it didn't explode but broke open on the runway. Now it's a housing estate, I hope no-one grows their own veggies.
