Yippee
I bought a few packs ...
I don't very often pop to our nearest Asda and to my slight annoyance they had decided to change all their cooler/chiller cabinets around, and although the correct signs were up the general public (including me) were having the odd moan to each other (oh, well it got us talking) ... but we don't like change do we, and are so used to going to the exact aisle where usually the product will be. So my quick pop to Asda's did take a little longer.
Of course supermarkets do this for a reason.
However. they also had some salmon on offer and I bought two lovely fillets ... which were £3-50 at Sainsburys but only £2-30 at Asda, who says it doesn't pay to shop around...
So thanks again Graham some great butter and some lovely salmon too
All the best Jan

Been a long time since I last saw ANY butter on special offer in the Co-Op. I need some more, Kerrygold or Anchor probably.

Re: Kerrygold butter offer
Just this morning started using the latest Kerrygold buys ...
So many of the supermarkets seem to follow the 'special offer' deals around, so perhaps Sainsburys may be taking their turn soon? That would be nice, or for Chris his local Co-op.
Keep your eye on the supermarket aisle, and please don't forget to share any good deals with us

Re: Kerrygold butter offer
I found one I'd never seen before, Wyke Farms butter, only 200g but about half the price of the others.

Re: Kerrygold butter offer
I've often bought their (Wykes) cheddar cheese, but somehow not even thought about looking at their butter ...
So thanks for bringing it to my attention, I will keep my eyes open

Re: Kerrygold butter offer
I never saw it before this week, maybe it was previously just a local thing and they've expanded production. Which reminds me, one of our local dairy farms does cream and cheese, I should look and see if they have also started doing butter.

Re: Kerrygold butter offer
I was out in Waitrose yesterday getting some more LivLife bread ( http://www.livlifefoods.co.uk/ ), when I spotted they too had an offer on Kerrygold Butter, not so good as Asda but still at a reduced price.
Buy two for £2-50 ...
Just keeping you posted

Re: Kerrygold butter offer
Sadly the amount I'd save from going to ASDA would be outweighed by the cost of the diesel to get there.
The Wyke Farms butter seems to stand up well to the hot weather, it melted but resolidified without going rancid. Before finding this I mostly bought Anchor or Kerrygold.

If you come across President butter on your travels Chris give it a try, I actually prefer it over Kerrygold

I have tried the President spreadable butter its nice and doesn't contain any nasties no vegetable oils, to be fair it's not spreadable straight out of the fridge
Catherine Collins RD reckons we would should be using low fat spreads though
Collins wrote:Couple of quotes
As a dietician, I try to persuade patients to shun processed foods, so why am I unhappy that so many choose to eat butter? Despite its perceived purity, I believe butter is one exception to the 'eat naturally' rule and you would be better off choosing a low-fat spread.
I do not advocate banning butter but suggest you use it sparingly. For butter lovers unwilling to change, I'd recommend a spreadable butter. These are blended with vegetable oil and have a lower saturated-fat content. Remember, even a modest reduction in saturated fat is enough to keep us enjoying food and life for longer, with a healthier heart

Re: Kerrygold butter offer
Good point, I've had the President butter also, relatively pale but not as much as Lurpak, and suitably tasty.
Catherine Collins shows her ignorance yet again, so no surprise there then.
