News just in. Astra Zenica diabetes drug Onglyza ( Saxagliptin ) may be associated with increased chances of death due to drug failure. Sales of $820million last year, this is potentially widespread. Link here:

Never forget, death can be fatal.

I'll stick to this sort of grub, no known side effects.

    Chicken curry with cauliflower rice.

Given the many other T2 drugs including Actos and Avandia that have been shown to have serious side effects I'm not at all surprised by this latest report.

Check out the NHS overview of Onglyza http://www.nhs.uk/medicine-guides/

They won't recommend a LC diet because there are no long term studies and yet their happy to give the go ahead to drugs that have long list of possible side effects and drug interactions.

How about a mix of toxic drugs that are being touted for T2 bitenails

Combination of a DPP-4 and an SGLT-2 for Type 2’s

New treatment strategies have focused on both dipeptidyl peptidase (DPP)-4 inhibitors, and SGLT-2’s....

    http://www.diabetesincontrol.com/

    DPP-4s include  Onglyza and Januvia

    SGLT-2s include Forxiga and Invokana

    Shocked

    Hi Graham!

Just when you think it can't get any worse...It does!!

I see SGLT-2s such as Forxiga are being praised on a few threads on the flog-I have to ask myself...Are those spuds, crusty white, hob nobs really worth taking a drug that reduces BG levels through a process of excretion of glucose molecules via the kidneys and urine?? All some folks seem to be worried about is the increased risk of thrush! I guess the HCP's who prescribe this omit to tell patients about the fact that excreting glucose molecules over a long period of time is a big cause of CKD! facepalm
