Had a great day today, met up with these two chimps with their mum and two of our sons. Had a great picnic in Basingstoke Memorial Park. In the afternoon off to see Great Granddad (90 years of age in May) then it turned pear shaped. From Basingstoke back to our place 50 miles, and took two and a half hours. Two accidents on the motorways and huge hold ups. Only one thing could keep me sane, straight to my favourite boozer.

Back to the pad for more wine and a great meal. Out in the hot sun all day, face looks like a boiled lobster. Shall I carry on decorating tomorrow or head for the lakes for more Vit D and some fishing. Decisions decisions, it's a tough gig being a retired old git.

OK Paul, you have made up my mind. Good weather tomorrow, and the decorating can wait. So it's down to this paradise with a packed low carb lunch and the gear. This fishing club has very few members and costs me around a £100 a year, even less next fees due, as I am retired. I love it.

Yes Jan it was a lovely day yesterday. We walked from Oxford Circus to Covent Garden and then to Baker Street. It was too hot in the sun and too cold in the shade Rolling Eyes

We were in the shaded bit at Wembley so I'm glad I insisted we all took coats. Smile And as for the match - at least we won! Smile We got home just after midnight.

Hi Zand - so pleased the result was what you, my dad and other Arsenal fans wanted. Smile

Out and about yesterday I found it sunny but the wind could be a little cool ..... you were wise to take coats.

Later today we will have the Grand Prix on - no surprises who I will be supporting !

    Come on Lewis sunny

    Your man won then Jan.
I would have liked button to win after the way he was treated.
That was not going to happen though.

Do us 'Brits' like to talk about the weather?

Well this Brit does - look what they are forecasting for next week affraid

Winter is set to return as weather forecasters have predicted wet, cold and miserable weather for the next week and into May.

Forecasters say an Arctic airmass, or a polar maritime mass, will blast over from Iceland bringing freezing overnight temperatures.

Britain will be colder than Moscow next week, with the Russian capital expecting highs of 22C.

Met Office spokeswoman Laura Young told the Daily Mail: "It is going to be increasingly unsettled and colder across the nation over the coming week."

Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror reports that icy winds from the North Pole will make Britain feel close to -10C in the North next week.

The RAC has warned Britons to "dig out the de-icer and scraper".

Tuesday 28th April and "There is speculation the Duchess of Cambridge could give birth to her second child as soon as today.

Kate, who is believed to be at least three days overdue, is set to deliver her baby at the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington.

Rumours of the presence of royal protection officers are circulating on Twitter, sparking suggestions the royal baby could be very imminent indeed."

Well I for one can't wait to hear the news. Will it be a boy or girl Question

    Blue booties or pink booties.

    On a personal note :
My mum loved knitting and when I was pregnant her knitting needles would always be busy. She made some lovely knitted booties, cardigans, hats, mittens etc.

I never did get into knitting (which is a shame) - my attempts were always dropped stitches and long scarves with holes in where I'd dropped the stitch ... never mind Smile
