BDA RD Collins jumps to the defence of the junk/ultraprocessed food industry

    https://twitter.com/JoannaBlythman/status/995324961123373056

She also calls well respected Doctors nutters, hardly the sort of language you would expect from a representative of the BDA but then again she's teaming up with Snowdon and that's the level she's sunk to

    https://twitter.com/RD_Catherine/status/995088106876493824

This is what brought about her comment

They make themselves look increasingly ridiculous, no longer any need for the likes of Eddie to do it for them.

Yep they are getting desperate now and in doing so are becoming a laughing stock, when they resort to using insults aimed at other HCP's it shows they have completely lost the plot.

I notice they STILL didn't release the verdict on Tim Noakes which was supposed to have been made by the end of March.

I also notice the lack of response to Virta or David Ludwig & co's Type 1 Grit study, apart from some fuckwittery. Obviously improving health is no longer on their radar.

Looks like a combined effort to discredit Noakes but they are wasting their time he just replies the once then ignores their follow up ludicrous responses

Oh yes Tro is brilliant. Not sure what's occurring with Nicola Guess, I think she is backpedalling while desperately trying to make it look as if she is going forwards.

    Another WTF moment

I have Type 2 diabetes – what can I eat?

    Breakfast

    • a bowl of cereal with semi-skimmed milk
    • 2 slices of wholegrain toast with spread and/or jam
    • a fat-free yogurt and fruit.

It's the poor patients who need a miracle Derek, most newly diagnosed would expect advice on diet coming from the UK's biggest diabetes charity to be sound not realising the damage it could be doing to blood sugar levels. I like many others was directed to DUK on diagnosis and had no reason not to trust them but fortunately for me I found the forum at DCUK which was a revelation and led me to Low Carb as way of control, unfortunately we are in the minority most will continue to be compliant with advice that is only going to make things worse.

Judas F Priest, that's much the same as in my leaflet from 13 years ago, helpfully sponsored by Takeda

a bowl of oatmeal with low fat milk and a banana

a slice of toast with low fat spread and no-sugar-added jam

a glass of no-sugar-added orange juice

    Meanwhile

How about a Barley pilaf with tofu and it only includes 76.9 g carbs but it's low in fat so must be ok for diabetics then  Sad

Has Duane Mellor completely lost the plot  Question

    You Couldn't Make This Up - Page 3 Capture%2Bcaptain2

Maybe it's because no low carber would consider the above as food  Rolling Eyes I presume" delete 1 nutrient" refers to carbs for a supposedly well educated bloke he still doesn't appear to know the difference between zero and low carb unless he thinks were all on a coconut oil diet  Laughing still it's ok for the BDA to give credence to a diet that really does "delete" 2 nutrients  Rolling Eyes

Think he may have regretted posting that tweet after the derision that ensued

    You Couldn't Make This Up - Page 3 Capture%2Bcaptain

    And there's more

Duane had a dig about Eddies use of punctuation marks but instant karma was about to happen

Diabetes type 2 - the best breakfast diet to prevent high blood sugar

You could lower your risk of high blood sugar by making small changes to your diet.

Breakfast is a particularly important meal for diabetics, said LloydsPharmacy to Express.co.uk.

People that eat breakfast find it easier to maintain their weight, as they tend to eat less during the day, it said.

The very best breakfast includes semi-skimmed or skimmed milk, instead of whole milk, it added.

“Eat a wholegrain breakfast cereal such as porridge or shredded wholegrain wheat cereal with no added sugar, instead of a sugar-coated breakfast,” said LloydsPharmacy.

“Top your cereal with fresh or dried fruit that counts towards one of your five-a-day instead of sprinkling with sugar.

“Choose lower-fat or fat-free Greek yoghurt or natural low-fat yoghurt instead of a full-fat yoghurt.”

If you have diabetes, the best breakfast dishes include porridge with mashed banana and dried blueberries, and muesli with fresh fruit and low-fat yogurt, it said.

Alternatively, try scrambled eggs or an omelette with wholemeal toast.

    https://www.express.co.uk/life-style/health/981217/diabetes-type-2-diet-breakfast-prevent-high-blood-sugar

Lloyds must be in partnership with the BDA and DUK to come up with this crap, no doubt it's good for business though with the sales of diabetes drugs ££££££
