Are you an internet shopper, or do you enjoy a trip to the shops!

Perhaps you do a little of both!

In Which's recent survey these five stores scored high, in the best high street shops:
    Richer Sounds
    Toolstation
    Harvey Nichols
    John Lewis
    Waterstones

    These didn't do so well:
    Morrisons
    WH Smith
    Poundland
    Poundstretcher
    Vodafone
    Peacocks

Speaking personally I do enjoy a trip to John Lewis/ Waitrose and the occasional walk around a Waterstones, and I have been in some good Morrison's stores too... but I think I may give Toolstation a miss! LOL!

Are any of your favourites here?
    Perhaps you've visited one today?

    All the best Jan

We still have Local Shops For Local People.

What's the problem with Morrisons then? Given the choice I also preferred Waitrose but found them quite acceptable.

Local shops for Local people is good!
We should all do our best to support them.

I was quite surprised to see Morrison's in the bottom half, the times we have shopped there it has always been good, and their prices quite fair.

I think more and more the internet is taking over from the high street, not too sure if this is a good thing or not!

Used to be a variety of local shops when I first moved here but the supermarkets put paid to them  Sad on the plus side the nearest place with plenty of small independent shops is a market town just a ten minute bus ride away Cool

I was struck by the difference around Hereford and Shropshire as well as here compared to Surrey, they also still have Real Shops which were priced out of existence elsewhere. Dorking thirty years ago was much like Beccles still is today, but they put the rents and rates up until the local shops went out of business, and provided large discounts to the big chains. Not to mention the Tescos hypermarkets.

Neighbours tried an experiment, they bought stuff in the Co-Op one week then went to the nearest Tesco Superstore and found it cost more. Other neighbours now get everything delivered by Tesco Sad

OTOH for specialist stuff like electronics or vitamins I use the internet.
