That was quick! I wonder how many cardiologists and dieticians are having his immigration status checked since this speech "That sounds like a Muslim name! He must be up to no good!"

When really top people in their field start telling the truth instead of relaying propaganda other people really need to take notice. Much the same with David Ludwig at Harvard going directly against Willett and Hu, and Ron Krauss, past president of the AHA, who could have had a very good career sitting back and repeating dogma but preferring to Do Science.

Hi Graham, Did you hear the news today about the invalidity of scientific studies because of minuipulation of data? I don't think the reporting on these findings are entirely accurate. It is not that that sodium intake is irrelevant but there is a sweet spot in the sodium intake spectrum.
Of course this is all irrelevant to me I have so much adosterone that sodium is destroying my heart because tissue gets stuffed with it and 30/40 years of Conn's has knackered my left ventrical.
I understand from the science sodium cannot be assessed from spot urine test as per the study. regards Derek

Hi Derek, I read a different version of events and that was as the study has yet to be published in it's entirety and that was the reason the original video was taken down.

"The original was taken down. Probably because the PURE-study is not scientifically scrutinized and thus it's questionable that should the findings be represented in this manner (yet)."

I agree sodium intake is a contentious issue with many conflicting studies but there is a reference range for sodium urine levels here , that said my levels are checked with blood tests I've not knowingly had sodium urine tests 

We should also take into account that Salim Yusuf is a well respected cardiologist with impeccable credentials

I accept there's a wide range of variation and individual conditions that affect sodium and potassium metabolism, but there's quite a lot of research now suggesting that the blanket salt restriction is NOT a good plan.

Definitely! Probably he is less corrupted by the constant flow of bovine faecal matter that erupts from The Establishment (backed by Big Food of course).

Much like Ron Krauss who only really spoke out after he had finished his stint as President of the AHA, he has been at the top and now he no longer has to toe the Party Line.

Katz and vegans what did you expect they have their backs against the wall, nobody takes them seriously apart from other like minded plant based diet gurus 

I ate an Ornish-style high carb low fat grain based diet once. I passed my first gallstone and had my first attack of gout. Not going there again.
