Not usually impressed with Spanish strawberries but I got some from Asda called Victory and they are not bad at all, not the dark colour of the normal Spanish ones sweeter and not as hard overall, worth a try if your missing English varieties  Cool

until the spring I've given up on fresh berries, I'm on the frozen ones, they are much stronger, i only ever eat them in yogurt and they are perfect as the yogurt dilutes the strength, i was sick of hard strawberries, that gone rotten a day after buying them, maybe get the boss to buy some of those and try them, as i do love a strawberry, thanks mate

My mother had a fetish for never eating strawberries until Wimbledon. I must confess some of the out-of-season ones can be pretty mediocre, she had a point, but with the increase in glasshouses I do tend to eat them over a longer season.

My favourite is Elsanta but there are some other varieties which are quite good - and some that are well below average. I'll have a look and see if these are in the Co-Op.

We've been enjoying British strawberries for some few weeks now ...
I usually look for Elsanta or Sonata but this week I bought the Murano variety, and they taste good, especially when served with some double cream sunny

Bought some 'Prize' strawberries yesterday ... hadn't tried these before, but they tasted good to us

'Large well formed light coloured conic berries are typical with acceptable flavour and excellent shelf life'

We're still enjoying the strawberry season, are you Smile  Question

There's a good selection of strawberries around I bought a variety called Favori grown in Hereford this week, they are sweet and juicy but will need eating quickly because they are really ripe

Oh yes, last time I was down your way we went strawberry picking somewhere near Burley.

Haven't had any yet this year.

Yes, there are many 'pick your own' sites.
The grandchildren love visiting them to ...

I always think it's best to make the most of the British strawberry season, you just can't beat it sunny

They took us to the fields in a horse and cart!

Yes I just had my first of the year, from the greengrocer and looks (and tastes) like a mixed batch of varieties.

We had a wonderful family BBQ today …
Lots of younger family members were present.
After the wonderful choices of chicken, sausages, burgers and salmon and so much lovely salad the dessert was laid out...
Well as we are in the middle of Strawberry season there were some wonderful tasting strawberries on offer complete with ice cream for those who wanted it and double cream too  Smile
    Yummy!

Hope your day was a good one.
