    I usually just barge in and start posting when I join a forum.
    This time I will introduce myself.
    I am 58 live in Scotland and my last HbA1c was 36.

    I have many medical conditions which I am assured were not caused by diabetes.

    Most recently the doctor thinks my leg may have rotated slightly in my hip socket.

    On the whole I feel better than I did when diagnosed T2 15 months ago. Very Happy

    I had increased my carb intake to show the doctor what would happen.
    It seems 30g a day extra had little effect.

    Sorry beardie - others may already know this answer because they 'know you already' but how many carbs a day do you allow? What is your usual range. I'm not diabetic but I eat no more than 50 a day ........

    Hi Jan you are of course right.
    I tried to have 3 meals a day with a maximum of 25g of carbs in each meal and no snacks. I kept that up for about 4 months till I was diagnosed as cured. I lost 4.5 stones during that period. I went from HbA1c of 67 to 35 in just over 4 months. I am not sure about being cured now. I refused to believe it at first. I had a glucose tolerance test after being told I was cured. I tested at 1 hour and was about 18. It would be an incredible coincidence if I happened to test at the exact max.
