Brexit, the movie! Empty Brexit, the movie!

Post by Eddie Thu Jun 30 2016, 16:18

I woke up last Friday morning, and have to admit, I was surprised to say the least, those wanting out had won. Clearly, a bun fight of gigantic proportions was to be expected. But Jeez, this is turning out to be Nightmare On Elm Street. Never in my lifetime has politics been so much fun. Us old timers from the forum of flog, thought we had seen plenty of lunacy, and in fighting, but this political carnage is off the scale. The only downside I can see, is I have spent far too much time watching the box, and surfing the net checking out the latest fire storm. It has been said, a week is a long time in politics, we are now seeing an hour is a very long time in politics.

What with the Tories rolling in the quagmire of self promotion, back stabbing and self aggrandisement, the Labour party has pressed the abort button and gone into self destruct. The poison dwarf SNP leader Sturgeon has gone from delusional, to strait jacket material. You really could not make it up, and I am sure the best is still to come. Who will win the Tory leadership, now Boris has gone the way of Julius Caesar? May the mortician or that reptile Gove. Just imagine a woman Tory leader, Angela Eagle heading up the Labour party, and widow Krankie north of the border. Good grief, it's enough to drive a diabetic to carbs. affraid

Crazy times indeed. I see the great un-washed are on the streets today protesting about the Brexit referendum result. If they had won, I expect they would still be in bed sleeping off a Friday night bender, waiting for their mums to wake them up, with tea and toast. You have to larf, many of these whingers are still living at home, driving their mums car, and will only move out, around 35 years of age, when mum and dad give them a deposit for a flat. Still, it was the old gits that stitched them up.

I left School at 15, had my own place at 20, blah blah blah. I do blame my generation for much of the grief the youngsters are suffering from. Most kids I know were brought up like Lords of the manor, compared to my generations upbringing. All my lot wanted was a job, any job. We used that as a stepping stone to progress up the layer cake. Now, so many want a Porsche and a pension from day one or they feel they have been hard done by. Nothing has changed, or will change for the working man or woman. It will always be WORK, WORK and more WORK if you want to get anywhere in this life. Oh, and being prepared to take a risk along the way.

There's a character in a John Brunner novel who spends his time stoned out of his gourd on whatever he can get, watching TV and thinking

"Christ! What am imagination I've got!"

These days you don't need the drugs.

Now the Tories are done and dusted, on to Episode 2 - the Labour Party

Probably why they revolted in Turkey, they thought our new Foreign Secretary was coming. Sheesh, he went to the same charm school as Prince Philip.

Nice to see Osborne and Gove have gone. Probably they will start a financial consultancy.
