Really?  Oh, I thought you would have been referred ages ago.  You must have been waiting several months?

Was referred a few days ago. Been waiting 15 months to be referred banghead

That's awful!  (Oh, don't bang your head, it won't help you know)

Have you changed your mind about football yet?

I got the idea of calling diabetes the betus after watching this years ago.

Which promoted me to make this.

Here is a good one. I always look at the nails on my big toes to see if my toenails need to be cut. (my eyesight is not good at that distance, glasses for nearer and perfect further. stepping into the shower today I noticed blood on one of my toes. I asked my wife to look at it and she told me my toe nails were far too long. that is when we realised that my big toe nails have stopped growing. there was no way I could cut anything off them but all the rest were very long. I would ask a doctor about but I know they would say " I have never heard of that, but I would not worry about it".

Dr Google came back with quite a few references for this, so might be worthwhile having a read. Maybe a fungal growth?

Though given the standard of care these days, your prediction of the GP's response is probably spot on.

I had looked at similar but it seemed unlikely only both big toes.

Nail growth can be affected by disease or illness, your diet, medications you take, and the natural aging process. If your toenails appear to have stopped growing, it's a good idea to talk with your doctor about the possible cause.

Keep in mind, though, that nails grow at different rates, depending on your age, how active you are, and even the time of year (nails grow slower in the winter). Because toenails grow so slowly -- only about 1 millimeter per month -- it may seem as if they have stopped growing when in reality they are just growing very slowly.

I am seeing the doc on Wednesday. It is the fact that it is both my big toenails only which have stopped growing that surprised me.

Doctor suspects fungal infection. On a lighter note my hip x ray didn't look too good so I'm getting an MRI. facepalm
