I don't know about you, but this reminds me of pre WW2 Germany. All over the EU extreme right wing nationalists are rising up. One thing is for sure, it ain't gonna end well. This is happening all over the EU, not that you will see much reported on the mainstream media.

It is deplorable that antisemitism is rearing its head in the UK, I suspect it is not coming from the long term rooted population.D.Eddie wrote:

Is it really though? I mean, you can say that Hitler putting the Jews into ghettos was not a good thing. But if you say perhaps Israel shouldn't be doing the same thing to the Palestinians, that becomes Antisemitism . . .

I hear what you are saying Chris. An example, if I was highly critical of Robert Mugabe and stated in my opinion the Zimbabwe government is corrupt, would I be called a racist and against black people? I don't think so. But, if I heavily criticise Israel, that would be a very different matter for many.
I think these latest anti-semitic stories in the papers are politically motivated. There has always been racist low lifes and I expect there always will be, but they are a tiny percentage of the population.

I think one can separate the political and personal. Someone denying the holocaust is evil and someoneone shouting heil Hitler to Jews is a person sick in their mind. But one noted the irony of the statement of the young Israeli soldier years ago who was bull dosing a Palestinian house! he said to the waiting press, "I was only acting under orders!" surely is not antisemitic.

"I was only acting under orders!" The last mob that used that line, ended up dangling from the end of Albert Pierrepoint's rope.

Quite, it takes the attention away from the Tories and UKIP who are undoubtedly MORE racist.
