The brilliance of the 'Have a Chat Thread' is you never know what we may talk about Question

Don't you just hate it when your computer plays up / has a fault Evil or Very Mad

Well, unfortunately this has happened to Graham Sad

He was talking to Eddie this morning and saying ... he is not expecting a working computer back until the weekend.
    We'll miss you here Graham

Well I can't believe Friday night is here once more - for many it's seen as the start of the weekend ... of course for those working shifts or weekends it's just Friday, and for those who are retired it may be just another day!

If you have read my previous post you know Graham has been computerless (is there such a word?) for the past few days and is hoping to have a computer back at the weekend.

I told that old skinflint to keep up the payments, or they would re-possess his computer. Does he ever listen to me, no way. The only time he hears me, is when I say, what do you want to drink mate. That's Noorvveners for ya. affraid

We've had a fun few days, and managed to see many family members, in fact standing in a queue earlier today I was obviously humming a happy tune, because a kindly gent said 'you sound very happy'... yes, I said I am sunny

Anyway dinner tonight some lovely cauliflower cheese with chicken and asparagus - it's starting to smell great ... so I'm off to the kitchen

I'm pleased to see we are beginning to pick up some medals out in Rio ...

Weather is certainly cooler - helps when you have housework, decorating, gardening etc etc to do.

The grand-children had a school holiday movie night last night ... talking on the phone they were so excited ... not sure what film they watched though Smile

Hope everyone has a good day

Thank goodness the weather has been a little cooler because we've had a busy week decorating ...
Well, I've had a busy week making tea, coffee and cooking. I did volunteer my services on the paint brush but (thankfully) they were turned down!

Must say it's been a bit hit and miss on the computer, as laptops etc got buried and moved around as the painting, tidying etc was going on ... well still is going on ... but we're getting there Smile

Can't believe it's Friday tomorrow - these weeks are definitely going by too quickly flower

Well, as I've not been in Trafalgar Square ... I've not seen any of these. How about you?

"Deliveroo driver rides around London on a penny farthing

Dapper fellow was spotted in Trafalgar Square

The sight of a rider zooming past with a big green backpack in tow has become commonplace in London. We live in an age where you can demand the delivery of everything from Peri-Peri chicken to sushi sent right to your door. And we're perfectly okay with that.

It takes quite a lot to make London-dwellers say "WTF?!" but a Deliveroo driver going about his business on a penny farthing seems to have done the trick. Several people shared pictures of the confusing scene on Twitter.
The dapper fellow was spotted rolling around Trafalgar Square on Thursday evening, looking perfectly at home on his one giant wheel. He even parked it outside a restaurant while he picked up food."

I was reading some of the history of Gardner. Hugh Gardner's designs were ahead of the world in the 1930s and 40s but he was such an arrogant sod that come the seventies he decided his customers were wrong to demand more power, plus he had a hatred of turbochargers (Paul Gardner had a secret turbocharging project in a shed). Also he had no interest in producing more engines to fulfil demand, so Cummins and Rolls Royce cleaned up, as did Leyland/AEC and of course all the continentals. After he retired the new big engines were rushed into production and failed badly.

Any similarity with Ancel Keys is purely coincidental.
