    Hello again

Post by jahusba on Wed Feb 18 2015, 14:26

Hello, at last I have some time to introduce myself. I recognise some people on here, not sure if anyone remembers me?although I haven't posted on this forum yet, I've been lurking around a while, her and on other LC forums.

I've known about LC for many years, first Atkins just for weight loss and then when I became diagnosed type2 about 5 years ago I looked into it more.

I've managed to keep my numbers low so I have never been prescribed medication, the down side to this is that I have to pay for prescriptions, which really annoys me Mad because unfortunately I also suffer from high BP, it suddenly shot up 10 years ago (in my forties) and have had to take 4 different meds for it since.

Although I keep my numbers low, I'm not strict with myself a lot of the time so I haven't yet conquered my life long weight problem, have lost some but still have about 5 stone to go Crying or Very sad No doubt this would help my BP problem.

I also take blood thinners, not Warfarin but the new drug Apixaban which a cardiologist prescribed after my second time of Atrial Fibrillation. so as you can see I really need to be doing this WOE! I keep falling off the wagon but then I get on all these great sites and forums and it encourages me to keep on going.

I thought if I participated more it'll encourage me more and help others too because over the years I have read a LOT!

    Regards Jane Very Happy

Hi Jane and thanks for taking the time to post. We all fall off the wagon now and then but then hopefully we encourage each other here when this happens. Even though you may still want to lose a little weight, you've done really well to remain diabetes drug free 5 years since diagnosis. Not sure how low carb you go or current fitness levels so difficult to offer advise at this stage but just wanted to say thanks for posting and if you have any questions, please ask. If you don't, just carry on joining in :-)
